Does your dog rush to greet someone new or hang back beside you? On a walk, do they investigate every unfamiliar corner or stick to the route they know? Dogality Test is a free personality quiz that helps you reflect on everyday observations like these and organize them into a profile of your dog.
It started with Tuffy, our Miniature Schnauzer. We wanted to understand what made him happy, how he approached the world, and what kind of companions he might enjoy. Those questions inspired us to create a way for other dog owners to reflect on their own dogs, too.
Inspired by the idea of personality types in MBTI, we built Dogality Test around dog behavior rather than human personality questions. Our goal is to give owners a fun starting point for noticing preferences and finding new ways to connect. You can read more about Tuffy on our Our Story page.
You answer questions about situations you have seen your dog experience. The result summarizes your answers across four dimensions used by Dogality Test:
Together, these dimensions place your dog in one of our 16 personality types. The result page includes a type description and suggestions for interaction and play. For a closer look at the process, read How Dogality Test Works, or explore all 16 dog personality types.
Use your profile as a prompt to observe, try something small, and see what your dog actually enjoys. For example, if your result leans Exploratory, you could offer a simple search game: place a favorite toy in an easy-to-find spot and let your dog look for it. Notice whether they join in eagerly, need encouragement, or prefer a different activity.
The useful part is that observation, not getting your dog to fit a label. If they lose interest, make the game easier or try another activity. Our DIY dog enrichment games offer more ideas to try together.
Dogality Test is an MBTI-inspired quiz for fun and reflection. It is not a scientifically validated assessment, a veterinary diagnosis, or a prediction of how your dog will behave in every situation. A type label does not mean one dog is better than another.
Your result reflects the answers you give. Answer based on the behavior you usually observe, rather than one unusual day. If you are still getting to know your dog, you can return to the quiz after spending more time together. Let your dog's actual responses guide how you use the suggestions.
Think about your dog's usual habits, then take the free Dogality Test. Allow about 2–3 minutes, and use the result as a starting point for getting to know your dog better.
Is the Dogality Test free?
Yes. The quiz is free to take, and you can view your personality result after completing it.
Does breed matter?
The questions focus on the behavior you observe rather than your dog's breed. Owners of purebred and mixed-breed dogs can take the quiz.
How long does it take?
Allow about 2–3 minutes. Take longer if you need to think about your dog's usual behavior.
Is Dogality Test scientifically validated?
No. It is an MBTI-inspired quiz for fun and reflection, not a scientifically validated assessment or a veterinary diagnosis.
